Narcolepsy led me to wedding photography.
Undiagnosed with the sleep disorder until after college, I didn’t know why years of memories blurred and disappeared, or why hours slipped away like seconds. I just wanted to remember the beautiful little moments, so in 2016, my mother gave me a camera.
Photography felt like waking up. As I started adopting a new perspective on my world—both literally and figuratively—I felt pieces of me clicking back together.
In the decade since, it's been a joy to marry the passion I found in social work for working with people and the calling I've felt to capture love stories as fine art.
It is my greatest honor to preserve once in a lifetime moments as they become memories. Not just the milestones, but the smallest glances, the fleeting gestures—the “blink and you’ll miss it” instances that make up a life.
Because in the end, is there any greater luxury than being known and loved, or anything more precious than savoring time, surrounded by your favorite people, in your favorite places?
I can’t think of a single thing, so let’s celebrate in style.
